School History

History

A group of enterpreneurs and managers worried about the difference between company needs and traditional training were proposed to create a Business School able to bring  the students closer to the real needs of a company. For that reason, they followed the British day-by-day model with its special lecture work-system which develops specific capacities and attitudes towards the students in order to make them proficient both professionally and personally. There was a social interest too in improving the Eastern Andalusian region, from a university point of view and with such a university tradition as Granada has. Then, the Business School started in Granada in 1992, offering the degree in Business Management Administration, in collaboration with the University of Derby (UK). A useful and practical carreer that brings the student closer to the company in any international field.

Since 2003 EiG has an agreement with ESIC to offer the Andalusian students the Master's  programmes demanded by the own company: EMBA (Executive MBA, first acreditted by the Executive MBA Council), GESCO ( Marketing and Commercial Management), MDCI (International Trade Management), MDF (Financial Management) and PSDV (Higher Programme in Sales Management).

Moreover, EiG offers a one-year- duration PSGE ( Higher Programme on Business Management), aimed to these students who are within the company and need to improve their CV or redirect their education. It is a High practical program that develops all kind of activities inside the class and allows the students to find a balance between their occupational, professional and academic life.

EiG also offers Executive Training with a Managering Programme aimed to CEOs and specific education for business people and managers, both open and in company, for specific purposes.

EiG provides modern facilities, inaugurated in 2003 with the latest technologies (it was the first Business School in offering a Wi-Fi free service in the whole area, for its students and during the whole year too. It includes a Public Business Library, with a rich offer of books, specialized magazines and daily economy newsapapers.

Business School has made a wide social work through entrepreneurial Forum and open and free sectorial conferences, dealing with general interest issues, helping to generate an interest towards improvement in a region that needs it as much as ours.

Our School has been distinguised with numerous awards and has been given a special  recognition from Society due to the service we offer and the companies we work with. In 2009 it has been awarded as "The Company of the Year" by GranadaECO (within the Granada Leader Awards) which are annually given; and in this 7th Edition, the work of other companies and businessmen has been recognized in Granada.

The EiG aim, throughout these years, is " To create Business people in order to manage business within an international frame"; as a consequence students have achieved to join the working environment successfully and  improve in their occupations, or even develop their entrepreneurial initiative, then becoming successful managers.
